Guys, I'm so stressed...I cant even commit to a decision about thanksgiving break...what am i gonna do about abroad considerations and graduating on time and jobs and ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Schedule next semester: Conducting with Wendy Music Theory IV Research Methods Opera Scenes (Into the Woods AHHHHHHH) Chamber Singers Voice with Jay Classical Instru. Ensemble (?) TA for Song Diction (?) Choir (?) Did I mention I'm going to be flat broke next semester if I dont work? How am I gonna afford Spring Break? Should I do the Semester at Sea? I know it'll be the experience of a lifetime but it will completely block me from graduating with my class. Why am I doing horribly in Music Theory? Why cant I get higher than a C on my Geology tests? I havent gotten Cs since i've been here. AHHHH WHAT IS MY DEAL?! FUCK.

Think of all of the damage he is capable of in 4 years...It's presently 242 (Kerry) vs. 249 (Bush)...its just too close to lose now...

Walking through a pond to get to a beach party is normal. Driving on the highway is scary. Paying 2.16 a gallon is normal for gas. (its 2.63 now) You've found out that you dated your cousin. (Or dating someone that once dated a good friend of yours and who also dated the same person you're brother dated AND you dated their cousin years prior...huh...good stuff...) You know everything about everyone on the island. You think Nantucket sucks. (HA!). You think Circuit Ave. is the place to be in the summer. Giordano's opening means the beginning of summer. You've been pulled over at least once driving through Vineyard Haven at night. A tourist has asked you, "People really live here all year long?" Up-island is so far away. You've been pulled over by Trophey. You've seen Bill Clinton at least once. You've eaten at the famous Black Dog like twice in your whole life. (Black Dog who?!) You refuse to drive through Vineyard Haven during the summer. You know what Biga, Mocha Motts Humphry's, Alley's and Dockstreet are. You know that South Beach is for the College Kids and Tourists. (Fuck that one...) Oaks Bluff and Mihisma are not part of your vocabulary. (Oak BluffS LJ!!!) Off-islanaders assume you are rich yet you don't seem to know a single person who is. You considered Oak Bluffs the ghetto of the Vineyard. Taking a boat to get anywhere is normal to you. You're out to dinner and Val Kilmer sits right next to you.(or Pee Wee Herman, or Ja Rule, or Johnny Knoxville, or the Reading Rainbow dude buying a pipe from the local head shop...) You know that smoking weed is just part of the island tradition. You've been to at least 3 beach parties in the last year and 4 of them have been broken up by the cops. You still refer to Aquinnah as Gay Head. Your road rage is ten times as bad during June as it is in January. (I just want to get to work! Go sightseeing later you SOB's!!!!!!!!!!!) You still drive through the Blinking Light forgetting the stop signs. You've been to late night munchie stops at Cumbys because that is the only place open till midnight. (What?! No delivery!!) You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from Martha's Vineyard. And yes I'm aware Island kids that I'm only a mere wannabe Vineyarder, but y'all KNOW its my home...c'mon now...

Stomping off from the caf after it closed early for the millionth time, I headed towards my car grumbling angrily to myself..."how the hell am i supposed to save any god damn money if i have to keep spending money on food...stupid caf...stupid guilford...who should i write to..." and the self-righteous rant ensued in my head as I drove to Quiznos. "What do I want? Hmmm..." Meanwhile, a little boy behind me begins to point and ask... Boy: "Mmmm I want a large" Mom: "No, honey [whispers] thats too expensive...plus its huge" Boy: [pointing to something else]"Well, how about that?" Mom: "No honey, i told you too expensive" I zoned out for a bit, thinking it rude to be eavesdropping. As I was paying with my Guilford College student discount, I heard the woman behind me say "I sure hope you guys take checks." "I'm sorry ma'am, we dont", was the employees response. The woman just stood there flabbergasted for a moment and finally responded "Well...I'm sorry...I...just cant then..." grabbing her child by the hand leading him out of the establishment. As she walks out the door, she takes one last look in that purse of hers for perhaps some money she had overlooked. No, no miracle today...nothing appeared. Walking out the door behind them, I see the boy start crying and her response "Its not like I meant to have them make up the whole sandwich and then leave it there...I didnt mean to...Its not my fault...Im sorry honey..." I got in my car, started the engine, and began to cry. I just couldnt help it. Because I'm a pathetically sentimental soul, I didnt just see a sad moment...I saw a statement about the world. What was I supposed to do? As it was occurring, my head was flooding with thoughts, ideas, concerns...and what did i do? Nothing...nothing at all. Afterall, what can I do? Insult and embarass the woman in front of her child by offering her the 3 bucks I had in my wallet if it would help? No, I do not deserve to be viewed as some hero in the eyes of a child, further developing contempt for his own mother who deserves the real credit. No, that cant be right. Offer my own sandwich? Afterall, my appetite had nearly died as it was. No...grown people want nothing to do with charity or anything associated with pity. Am I expected just to numb myself to these moments and smother these feelings when they surface? Well, I'm sorry, I cant...nor do i understand people who can. Guilt is a thick flavor that does not wash down easily... Am I to now become inspired and join a 'cause'? What the hell is that anyway? A cause...There are so many to choose from. How in the hell am I supposed to pick just one?! So many things are wrong with this world...I cant blindsite myself by picking one...The whole damn big picture is skewed... What is wrong with this place? Apparently we are missing a crucial piece of the puzzle if we exist in a world where a mother cant afford to feed her child. Or, better yet, a world where some have it all while others are left with nothing. Who am I to be born into a family who can afford to put me through college while this kid cant have a sandwich from Quiznos? A mere matter of luck? No, there's something wrong with that...a lot wrong with that...too much wrong with that... Is it really possible that life is a gamble? Cross your fingers, roll the dice, hope for the best...and pray for a miracle...

Oh my god, do I EVER have to blow my nose. But I cant because the last time i did i nearly ripped out my nose ring...Oww now it hurts. Who's a winner?! ME ME!!!!!! In an effort to add something new and exciting to my exciting diet of Subway, Quiznos, and Panera (because everything else in drrrrty Greensboro is fucking fried or fast or BOTH), I put southwest sauce on my sub. Note to self: southwest is spicy WHOOOOAAAAAAA. Kinda one of those things that tickles while going down...weird. So, although you were all correct, I dont think I have strep, man is this an awful cold. Yesterday I SWEAR my throat was closing in. And today my nose is, as Bill said so eloquently, shitting itself. Lovely image...I know. Josh is coming in 6 freaking days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX...i mean...what? Anywase...Holly come home to me baby...Bzzzzt and Dzzzt just isnt the same without GZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
